Facing a Concrete Block

During summer 2014, leading real estate developer OliverMcMillan was in the final phases of construction of its latest luxury retail, office and residential space, Buckhead Atlanta. Two weeks before its fall 2014 opening date, OliverMcMillan found itself in need of critical wireless Internet access.

With a number of project demands depending on connectivity, OliverMcMillan knew it had to acquire a flexible provider that could install fixed wireless and temporary connectivity very quickly – or risk a delayed opening. Most immediately, the construction teams needed temporary Internet for workers to communicate and manage the project until completion. Meanwhile, the project still required a comprehensive fiber build-out to support specific requirements needed for the grand opening and beyond, including illuminated parking gates, HD network access, audio equipment and tenant connectivity for everyday operations such as payment processing and phone calls.

All Hands on Deck

In less than 24 hours after receiving the initial call from OliverMcMillan about the project, One Ring’s project management and engineering teams were on-site powering Buckhead Atlanta with a 50 mg circuit and microwave over Ethernet service. In addition to connectivity needs for development of the luxury space, 16 retail tenants also required their own business wireless solutions to support the opening and were in need of a quick turn around for meetings and contracts, as they were visiting on-site from overseas.

Putting client needs first, One Ring’s team was able to meet with each of the business owners in person and immediately got to work ensuring their connectivity was set up and ready for the opening day of business. Meanwhile, One Ring’s engineers worked around the clock to help OliverMcMillan complete tasks based on priority – everything from servicing cameras to automated, illuminated parking gates.
